Holy Week 2019

The week leading up to Easter can be filled with many things besides reflection on the crucifixion. It’s hard to slow down, especially during the church’s “busy season”, and reflect on the scriptures. Honestly, when I was planning this post I really wanted to share a daily devotion with y’all. I had some grand ideas, but I couldn’t find the inspiration to complete them and didn’t understand why. When I started praying about why, while also feeling guilty about not being inspired to share more, God revealed to me the reason. It is a reason I really needed to hear, and maybe you do too. The reason is I didn’t need to share daily devotions or additional words because the scriptures are enough. I love reading, and a lot of times I find myself reading more about scripture than actually reading the scriptures. Yikes! It’s so important to have a balance and know scripture for yourself. The Bible is the living word of God, and it amazes me still how God can speak straight to me through a scriptures tons of other people have read as well.

12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

Hebrews 4:12 NLT

God gifted us this holy book, and we can’t forget to spend time reading it. I’ll be honest; I am working on this myself. This Easter, I challenge you to make time to read His words. I’ve included a free download I created with a beautiful graphic and colors, something that I was inspired to do. I wanted the inspiration to share more words with you, but God reminded me that what is already written can speak to you, and me, if we will read it. Join me this week as I focus on daily readings in the Gospels about the things that happened leading up to the miraculous resurrection of our Savior.

Download the PDF for print below or save the image to your phone.

I would love if you shared this with others, so they might be inspired to read His word this week too.

I also created a couple of lock-screen options for your phone. I love this simple image so much.
